Security Report Wizard for Grafana
A FastAPI web wizard that pulls panel data from Grafana dashboards and turns it into spreadsheet reports for stakeholders without dashboard access.
Project Overview
Grafana is great for watching data live, but less so for handing someone a report. This wizard connects to the Grafana API, lets you pick dashboards and panels step by step, and generates a report file from the panel data.
Implementation Process
- FastAPI backend with routes for data sources, indices, fields, dashboards and panels.
- A multi-step report wizard in the browser, with logo upload for branding.
- Report generation from selected panels, including spreadsheet (XLSX) export.
- A panel test page to preview panel data for a time range before generating.
Results
Dashboard data becomes a shareable report file without copying numbers by hand.
